This week I have been a little busy transforming the look of the blog a bit, and even designed a new header pic using PicMonkey – it’s my first time using the software, so be nice😉 Anyways, I changed up the previous mint green sandpaper background to a textured brick wall because I like the rustic-ness of it and wanted a cleaner, more elegant look.
I didn’t participate in the The Daily Post‘s Blogging University, but I read and followed some of the tips which are pretty useful. So I added in a Best of Mod with Love page, a collection of posts I’d like to share with you, including posts on my battle with acne, dealing with losing a parent and an interview with a muslim astronaut. There is now a page for my participation in challenges from TDP at “DP Challenges“. My travel journeys are in “Travelogue” and my categories are now called “Journeys”, which is in synonym to my blog tagline. I also added in my published articles in Malay but these pages are in dire need of more articles and/or content that I thought twice before sharing it haha.
Okay that’s it for the blog updates. Feel free to navigate through the layout and let me know what you think🙂
Blog things aside, I came across some really good posts and links this week so I thought of sharing it here with you:
1. When People Have More Faith in You than Yourself by Rima Hassan: A great confidence booster which I so can relate well to; I love how photographer Rima Hassan shares some bits and pieces from her own doubts on her amazing photography skills.
2. 10 Things I BET You Did Not Know About ISLAM by Noor Mastura: A really awesome article on the stereotypes of Islam (and Muslims); I love the writer’s boldness and her simplicity in explaning what might be complex and hard to understand.
4. Designer Oh Joy’s post on how her childhood ambitions took a different turn… something I can also relate to: When I Grow Up by Oh Joy! (I simply admire this inspiring lady and have been following her bright and colorful amazing design blog for years now).
7. Last but not least, sharing on 2 of my home girls who recently launched their own design businesses: Milk and Tamar by Izsra Yasin, home decor specialising in Islamic sayings – Quranic verses, zikrs and du’as – in pastel hues,
Do check out their pages, super proud of them for their mad talents and designing skills! And of course, their courage to start a business and run it well to the best of their capabilities, InsyaAllah.
I shall end off this post with a quote by Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus, one of my favourite female teachers, speaker, author of all time.
Jumu’ah Mubarakah and Have a blessed Friday y’all!😀
